Juan Carlos Donoso Gómez holds a degree in film from the Universidad San Francisco de Quito and a Master's degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Amsterdam. His debut feature film, 'Saudade', premiered at the São Paulo International Film Festival in 2013. 'Huaquero', his second feature film, had its world premiere at IDFA – International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in 2024.
