In a context of social changes and major blazes we follow the histrionic firefighters of Valparaíso and question their role in the Chilean society.

storyline

The firefighters of the 5th company of Valparaíso are preparing for the season of wild fires. But this year is different, the city lives to the rhythm of the barricades since October 2019. Pirópolis follows the men of this company, testifying to the links between these firefighters and the citizens of a country on the verge of a tipping point.
Nicolás Molina

Nicolas Molina is a chilean filmmaker. His first and second feature documentary films, Beaverland (2014) and Flow (2018) were released at the Sheffield Film Festival and won several awards. In 2021 he releases Gaucho Americano at Hot Docs International spectrum.

Josephine Schroeder

Joséphine Schroeder is a production company based between Chile and France, co-founder of Pequén Producciones, with which she produced Historia de mi Nombre by Karin Cuyul ​​(IFFR 2019), Gaucho Americano (Hot Docs 2021) and Pirópolis by Nicolás Molina and 3 brothers by Francisco Paparella.
