FIDOCS EXPANDIDO

FIDOCS Expanded is the festival's space dedicated to eroding the boundaries of traditional documentary and opening the field to cross-pollination between alternative formats, techniques, disciplines, and theoretical frameworks. This year it focuses on three projects: the 'Videoperformance: I Am the State' by Carlos Flores and Sebastián Arriagada; the experimental work 'Dipole Phase III' by Carolina Adriazola and José Luis Sepúlveda; and the short film 'Dead Language' by José Jiménez.

In this way, it proposes a curatorial and mediating approach that seeks to dismantle the linearity of the theater and activate the cinema space as a laboratory: installations and performances with dialogue, process openings, and archival materials that allow the works to be interpreted from shared perspectives. Body, memory, technology, and language, to explore other ways of seeing, thinking about, and experiencing documentary today.
